Vmware vsphere client giving error-Call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" for object "ServiceInstance" on Server "192.168.x.x" failed.

Hi All,

I was facing below error while connecting esxi 5.5 host through vsphere client.After giving server details and credentails it takes some time after that it gives below error.Please help.

Error- Call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" for object "ServiceInstance" on Server "192.168.x.x" failed.

Just simple change IP address of your host and try to connect again.It work for me.

My issue- Same IP address was going to be used one of my linux server which I had assigned to Esxi host so in this we do not get IP conflict error message.

When I checked same in my DHCP server that same IP used in both place.Changing IP address was my solution and it works for me.
